Exercising for the Overweight Client

Q:  I am overweight and have been doing walking for
my aerobic exercise for some time now. At first,
I seemed to make some progress, but now it seems
as if I haven't seen much change to my body lately.
What types of exercise do you recommend for an overweight
person trying to lose pounds/inches?

A:  Thanks for your question.  First, check with your physician
to see if everything is ok, and whether doing other forms of exercise
(such as resistance training) is appropriate for you.
If it is, then you may consider adding some other forms of exercise
to your routine to avoid what's called a
plateau.
I just wrote an article on the subject of "Training for Heavy Clients.
